Company at Vastine's...Welcome, Piper Vaughn!

Hey there, darlings!

I'm happy to welcome a guest today who is a relatively new friend to me, but a familiar name in the m/m genre---author Piper Vaughn.

She's visiting today to talk about her newest release, co-authored with author MJ O'Shea, titled Moonlight Becomes You.

I find this so cool because she and Ms. O'Shea have had a chance that so many of us authors would cover---the chance to tweak an original work and re-release it, brand new and shiny.

Pssst....stay tuned! At the end of the blog, I've got a fun give-a-way!

So....here is Ms. Vaughn to share that experience and to tell us about Moonlight Becomes You!

Getting Lucky: The Origin of the Lucky Moon Series

Four years ago I met some like minded people in the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads and we formed a crit group. Not long after, I mentioned the possibility of writing together to MJ O’Shea, one of the other members. I loved her work and thought our styles would mesh well. We began discussing a possible series, but before we could start that one, inspiration struck for Moonlight Becomes You. Oddly enough, the idea for this story was sparked by an episode of South Park, “Guitar Queer-O.” I was in the middle of watching the show when the basic idea for this book struck me. I thought it sounded fun, so I pitched it to MJ and a possible project, and she agreed. And so the boys of Luck and Moonlight were born. One book eventually became three, all featuring a different couple from our universe. We have rock stars, drama, angst, sex, and everything in between. And, now, after over 2 years since the release of the original version of Moonlight Becomes You, we’re thrilled to announce that each book will be released as a second edition, in both ebook and paperback.

Moonlight Becomes You was expanded by about 16,000 words from the original. We worked some scenes from our vignette collections into the story, with some tweaking, but we also wrote a few new scenes and changed the original ending to something we felt was more appropriate. We think it’s a better book now, and we’re proud to see it out there again. Hopefully, both old and new fans will enjoy it now that it’s had a bit of a makeover. I know we’re happy with how it turned out, and we’re super grateful to all of the Lucky Moon supporters over the years. No telling if we’ll ever put out another series that spins off from this one, but it’s certain that this one will always hold a special place for us, as it’s the first one MJ and I ever started together.
So, if books about musicians are your thing, come get lucky with us. ;)

Moonlight Becomes You
Blurb:
2nd Edition; Lucky Moon: Book One
Eleven years ago, Shane Ventura made the biggest mistake of his life when he caved in to pressure from his record label to kick his best friend, Jesse Seider, out of their band, Luck. To this day, Shane has never wanted anyone more, and all the sex and alcohol in the world can’t fill the void Jesse left behind. Not even the prospect of teaming up with Britain’s hottest band, Moonlight, for a massive world tour can get him out of his funk. Then he meets lead singer Kayden Berlin and falls into instant lust.

Kayden may act like he’s not interested, but Shane knows he feels the spark between them. Yet the harder Shane pushes, the more Kayden pulls away, until one explosive night leaves Shane with a broken heart. That seems to be his lot—lucky at everything but love. Shane still has one lesson left to learn, though: when it comes to love, you can’t always leave things to chance.

Thank you, Piper!  Moonlight Becomes You promises to be wonderful---full of heart wrenching emotion and lots of sensuality. And the cover is absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations to you and Ms. O'Shea!

And for readers, how about a fun contest and a chance to win a $25.00 Amazon gift card?

Easy. Comment and tell me your favorite rock song. Any era, any style. Punk heavy metal, good ol' rock-n-roll, 80's girl bands, divas. And---hey---while you're at it, share a concert story if you have one. What cool groups have you seen in person?

C'mon, rock lovers! I want to know!

loved both Bananarama who sang Cruel Summer and Joan Jett who sang I Love Rock and Roll. Haven't been to a concert so I don't have a story to share. Thank you for the giveaway.

Great blurb. My favorite rock song is Smells Like Team Spirit by Nirvana. Still have to crank that up whenever it comes on the radio.

My favourite song is "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen with the GREAT Freddy Mercury singing. Love this song and always will... he is so missed and I was and still am a fan of his brilliant voice :)

I have so many songs it's hard to choose, but I'll combine a favorite with a concert memory. My first concert was Queen when I was about 10 years old. I have seen hundreds of shows since, but still have a very vivid memory of Freddy Mercury singing one of my favorites Somebody to Love.

I'm going to have to go with Duran Duran 'Hungry Like the Wolf'. I've seem them in concert 3 times in the last 10 years or so and they just get better and better.

I'll go back to a song I adored growing up and can still sing word for word so many years later: Bryan Adams "Summer of '69". As for concerts, seeing U2 during their Joshua Tree tour remains one of my all time best musical experiences.

Most of my rock favorites are from the 70s and 80s. I don't think I can pick just one.

Best concert memory would have to be The Jacksons 1984 Victory Tour. Michael was amazing and I have never screamed so much in my life.
